YEAR 10/11s INTERESTED IN APPRENTICESHIPS

Virtual Apprenticeship Week 12-21st August - A series of virtual events for young people (and their parents) regarding all things about apprenticeships.   There will be lots of providers explaining about different kind of Apprenticeships, case studies, Q&A's etc.  I believe there will also be some events taking place later in the day/early evening aimed at Parents/Carers - sign up here.

Google Classrooms

How to join a Google Classroom

Your child should have received an email with an invitation to join their teachers Google Classroom. From there they would click on the plus sign “Join Class”.

Step by step guide:

  • Open Google Chrome
  • Search RMunify.com
  • Log in using EPHS email – using the format first initial.surname@EPHS.org.uk
  • Select the Google Classroom tile and log in as a student
  • Join the classes by clicking on the + sign in the top right hand corner and using the class codes above

Note:

For those who only have the internet on your phone, you may want to download the Google Classroom App (it’s free) so that your child can view the work that classroom teachers will be posting.

In addition, it would be helpful to download Google Docs and Google Sides.

Update for Year 11s:  Colleges and Post-16 Providers are still working on providing help and support for their prospective students during this time.  Please check the information available here for support and guidance on your child’s next steps after school. Your child’s form tutor will be able to pass on any requests for additional support so please mention this in your weekly welfare call if you need any help.

Salford colleges are holding virtual new students days for Year 11’s (college have sent this out to Year 11’s) and also a Virtual taster session for Y10’s. The details of both are on the attached here. The students would need to register for the events, but you can ignore the closing date for these as I’ve the college are keeping the online registration open.
